What is power?

Posted in Uncategorized on May 28, 2010 by elevengem
What is power? Power can be used in many differnt contexts. Government,Higherachi,Parents, Strength,Size,Wealth,Knowlage, and Popularity. All of these sub-genars will end up breking down into fufiling the definition of power. Here are some examples,

1.There are five guys in a room and there is one cholcolate bar and everone wants it,So things turn to violence the probability is the biggest or strongest guy is going to end up with that chocalet bar.  This type of Strenght would be broken down physical power. Witch can help with dayly activites and problems that accur on the street.
2.  Say your a 14 year old boy living with Mom and Dad, sterotypical American family,So, a bunch of your friends are going to this concert that you wouyld love to attened!, but your parents object to idea. That senerio has nothing to do with being phycicle hurt well i hope not, so, why not just go anyway, Because they are like your giving tree and if you make the giving tree mad, it will stop suppling you with things you want, eat, and do for fun on a normal day.  This can be found in almost every household. Someone always holds a hire athority then the majority of the house, could be the owner, elder, parents, or provided for goods.
3. Your in a game show, you and several others are asked a series of questions, everyone missed more than half the questions, accept you got everone of them right. You have used your knowlage to put u in a place of power. This can help gain political power and help sway people to become apart of your belifes or doings. Also can increase money income producing more weath, because money talks, who evers got the biggest wad of cash ussally get a say in whats going on.

Power is just broken down in to many sub-generas. It can come in differnt forms depending on the persons postion. Like fight for a chocalot bar to running for priesent.

Epic journey through space

Posted in Uncategorized on May 28, 2010 by elevengem

The monkey sneezed. Life was very lonely for this purple deformed monkey. Monkey had many problems being in space all alone. He began to play with his only toy, which was a super soaker that was green. While playing with his super soaker he began spray  the control board, soon after everything went down hill.

The ship like object he was on was known as Metal Man. Metal Man still had feeling even though he was a space ship. He became very unhappy with Monkey for wetting his control board, and he began to prepare for a crash landing.  As they began to descend, monkey became very frightened and began to panic. He ran frantically throughout the ship looking for an exit of some type, but the only exit he knew of had been blocked a fallen statue, when playing cops and robbers with his pet rock, Frankie a few weeks early. Monkey needed to think of something quickly or it was going to be a bloody mess.

Monkey had a brilliant idea, he grabbed a space suit and grabbed his pet rock. He had began to extend his little arm back, while aiming the rock at a window he asked himself why am i throwing my best friend out the window. Some after thinking he immediately stopped and admired at the rock with a dazed stare. Then suddenly the ship came to a crashing land, everything had become destroyed in the intense landing.

Monkey for some odd reason made it through the crash without a scratch. He examined himself very carefully with such amazement, he was not hurt then the word out of his mouth was “uhm”. At this point monkey had nothing his ship and his pet rock were gone.So he set out on adventure to find something to do with his life.

10 years later the monkey was still wondering around in a circle, then he found a worm. This was a very small worm, which had been trying to cook himself to death on a rock. Monkey was kind of disturbed to see this little guy trying to kill himself. He became very angry with this worm and started screaming at him. The worm was very confused by the monkeys strange reaction. The worm was starting to become annoyed with the monkey, so he began to hiss and jumped on the monkey and crawled calmly into his mouth. This was no big deal for the monkey it was just a worm.

A few hours later monkey started to become sick and started coughing up blood. Then suddenly the worm came flying out of monkey and into space and looked back and said “gotcha”. The poor monkey falls to the ground bleeding out of this stomach and wonders if he shouldn’t have sneezed.

Presidential candidates

Posted in Uncategorized on May 27, 2010 by elevengem

Presidential candidates every four years, jump the gun on commercials to try and convince the public to vote for them. These commercials are to give an edge to the candidates, but they really only have 30 seconds at a time, can the really convince the viewer to use their one and only vote on them? As most can predict yes, but can one single point change someone whole point of view, probably not!

What the Campaign Commercials do, is get the people at home thinking about the election and maybe it will even get them to look a bit deeper into the candidates options and see what candidate best suits them. A commercial break is a great time for a discussion, and during those 4-6 months of presidential runs, the heat can really get stirred up in work areas, homes, and schools. An example, 2008 commercial Brock Obama states “YES WE CAN”. This can be looked at in so many angles it really can be personalized from person to person. YES WE CAN, can relate to anyone and everyone. The guy that doesn’t have a job, bill gates, and U! That’s why it was such a great commercial!

Presidential commercials do give the candidates a boost in the public opinion. It would be very hard to believe that it changes the position of high up Democrats and Republicans. Participants in the white house have already chosen their position and have very strong arguments for their sides, so for one commercial to change their whole opinion on their party would be very shocking for the majority of the public.

For a lower level voters (Public) which makes up the majority of the votes. The reason lower level voters is used, because Representatives and Senators usually have the more leverage to change the minds of people and hold tons of support to the candidates.  So do Presidential Commercials really help the candidates gain more support and votes? Of course they do! Television Commercials are a great to get those strong points out about themselves, gives the people an idea of what the candidates are for, without completely diving into some hardcore politics. Makes it very convenient for the working individual.

Domestic Vs. Import

Posted in Uncategorized on January 20, 2010 by elevengem

Today car shoppers have two main options when considering a car, an import vehicle or a domestic vehicle, American Model. Some differences that consumers will take into consideration are gas mileage, reliability and price. However both domestic and import vehicles are used as forms of transportation. Despite the differences between domestic, American and imports they also contain many similarities.

Domestic vehicles. The major automakers of America, as of today include General Motors, Ford Motor Co., and Chrysler LLC.  Ford Motor Co. is responsible for Ford, Mazda, Volvo, Mercury, and Lincoln. General Motors is responsible for Pontiac, Saturn (No longer produced), Chevrolet, Saab, Buick, Cadillac, GMC, and Hummer, which was sold. Chrysler LLC is responsible for Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep.

Import vehicles. The major imported vehicles that are imported into America are from Japan, Korea, and Europe.  Japans auto makers include Honda Motor Co. and Toyota Motor Co. Honda Motor Co. manufacturers every Honda and Acura in the world. Toyota Motor Co. manufactures Toyota, Scion, and Lexus models. Korea’s car manufacture is Hyundai-Kia Motor group, they produces Hyundai and KIA vehicles. Volkswagen group of America is Europe’s largest auto manufacture, they manufacture, Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, and Lamborghini

Gas Mileage numbers for American vehicles are done from averaged tests done to all vehicle types from each company. Ford Motor Co. has an Average of 20.5mpg, General Motor has 19.09mpg for their average, and Chrysler LLC averaged 19mpg. Ford motor Co. was started in 1903, the model T came into production in 1908, and was first car manufacture to have an assembly line. The Model T quickly became the most popular vehicle of its time. General Motors founded in 1908, began production soon after. Chrysler LLC started began their voyage in 1924, they quickly rose to the top of the line, because of their six-cylinder automobile that was able to reach up to 70mph.

Gas mileage for Honda Motor Co. averages at 24.4mpg. Toyotas follows close behind at 24.3. Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group fell closely behind at 24.1mpg. Volkswagen excluding the Bentley and Lamborghini models because such poor gas mileage, they average 22.2mpg. Start up for Honda Motor Co. began in 1947 in Las Angles, they started out building strictly motorcycles, then in 1950’s they began designing automobiles, they took off as a company because of their great fuel economy. Toyota Motor Co. began in 1933, their first vehicle was built in 1935, in 1957 their first automobile was sent to America to put on the market. Hyundai-Kia Motor Group started as a very small company in Korea in 1944, they were not intending on sell anywhere else besides to neighboring countries. Volkswagen Motor Group of America began in the late 1920’s and took off during WW2.

Reliability has become a major divider in the choice of Domestic Vehicles and Import Vehicles. In the early years Domestic models were the only available choice, making many set on American made automobiles for later years.  During the time period 1910-1960 most all products from any of the Asian countries were considered unreliable and many did not want to support other counties, due to the wars happening overseas also any countries that could be a possible threat to the United States of America.  At this point in time foreign manufactures were in there beginning stages of production. They had not quite mastered the art of automobile manufacturing, so reliability was low. As soon as the 1980’s hit, suddenly more Asian Motors were on American roads due to the low cost, high gas mileage, and reliability. Asian manufactures were very anxious to get into the US’s market because of number of car sales in the US was rapidly rising. They seceded by making a cost more effective car, that was more compact, using fewer materials, used less expensive materials without decreasing the reliability of the vehicle, and by having their major manufacturing plants in Asia was by far much cheaper than the plants in the States. Many American Automakers panicked because foreign companies were taking substantial amount of sales away from their Car lots. Ford, GM, and Chrysler fought back by trying to lower their cost to pass on to the consumer. They began by lowering the quality of their products to cut cost and built plants overseas for cheaper labor rates. American cars quickly fell to the bottom of the list for reliability. Now to this day foreign cars have some of the best reliability ratings.

The gas mileage between imports and domestic vehicles. There is no real comparison for an overall view of all the vehicles. Many domestic companies produce Work vehicles that include Trucks, Vans, and special purpose vehicles.  All of the Vehicles listed have terrible gas mileage, but they serve a specific purpose. Most foreign countries do not produce the number of work vehicles that American companies produce. As, for a daily driven vehicle, traveling moderate distances, imports the best option. Import vehicles have the upper hand on sedans and coupes for high gas mileage, making them very economy friendly for a daily driver. Construction workers will more favor a domestic vehicle more than an imported vehicle, as a teacher or programmer would.

Consumers must take into consideration repair costs of the vehicle. Repair cost tends to be very high for luxury vehicles, due to the low numbers compared to more common vehicles in the 15,000-30,000 dollar range. Repair cost between the two, Import vehicles have less expensive repair histories then domestic on average. Imports average 2000 dollars in repairs in a 5year period. Domestics average 3500 in repairs in 5 years period. Due to import reliability they become more superior in a buyer’s market.

The majority of Americans live in the lower and middle classes, this gives import vehicles have a huge upper hand in the Auto market of today. Gas mileage, Reliability, and cost all have major effects on someone’s choice. We always have to put into consideration is what purpose is the vehicle going to serve to the consumer. Despite their differences they both end up being both vehicles.

Immigration

Posted in Uncategorized on December 4, 2009 by elevengem

Today illegal immigration is a huge problem in the US. The majority of illegal
immigrants come from Mexico. This is not a problem of race or segregating it has
come down to draining our system. When I say system I mean our Government.
Our government is here to protect people like you and me and help provide us
with services that will help in some way shape or form. There is a slight catch
with this and that is we as citizens of The United States Of America have to pay
Taxes on our money. This percentage of money goes to fund these service
education, hospitals and police services. Now take a step back and think about
all of the services and how each one is almost running at every moment of the
day. Now everyone has used more then one of these to help them excel, to be
fixed up, and even protected or straightened out. Valuable services are spent on
illegal immigration. Undocumented workers do not pay taxes that support city services like police, fire, and road repairs. Now what if someone takes
advantage of these services and does not pay taxes? It subtracts from the
system. Now one or two wont hurt but what about the 20million undocumented
workers in the United states. When problems begin to arise with them, these
services by law cannot neglect them due to there ability to pay, show
identification, or language barrier. So what has happen illegal immigrants have to be accounted for even they are not contributing to our over all system. Now only are the services by law offered to them. Schools have to hire Spanish speaking teachers, purchase new learning marital, and print all school announcement in Spanish. Hospitals have been hit the hardest, when someone comes in to get checked out and has no inedible identification, how are they going to later contact the person if there undocumented! There not so the hospitals valuable services will not become reimbursed. This begins a vicious cycle but it ends up tobe your problem in the end less money is spent on your kids in school, your taxes are raised to cope with the ridicules costs, and you will see services slowly disappear. Weed need to take a closer look at solving the immigration problems in this country.

Today I was walking through the parking lot of our local mall and a certain car caught my attention! Looking from a a distance it looked like a real sporty looking Nissan 350Z. I crept towards the car I realized it was a Nissan Skyline. I amazed, I never thought I was going to run into one of these beauties at the mall. The Nissan Skyline is very rare compared to any car in its class. The base price is 70,000 which is a lot but not for the performance the car holds. The Nissan Skyline has 480whp off the lot. That’s an insane amount of HP, with 430lb of torque. If you’re itching for a semi-expensive ride, relative to the performance this car is going satisfy that need for speed at 0mph-60mph in 3.3sec. This car is capable of reaching those speeds with its twin turbo V6 3.8liter engine. You are wrong if your thinking this is just a good track car for those nice sunny days. This is equipped with a trans axle, making 4-wheel drive ability capable to the driver and gives the driver complete full control on turns and corners. The Skyline is ready to take on any weather condition you put it to the test . If your concerned about safety this car comes equipped with 3 point harness seat belts that are on the diver and passenger seats to ensure maximum safety to the persons inside the vehicle, Side airbags are also on the driver and passenger sides, as well as a SRS airbag system throughout the entire vehicle. The Skyline has been acknowledged as a Super Car because of its performance, advanced aerodynamics, and stylish look for its price.

Street Racing

Posted in Uncategorized on December 4, 2009 by elevengem

Have you ever heard of the growing problem with Teens and illegal street racing? At one point another I’m pretty sure everyone has at.

Teens are dying from this what most would call a new age fad, from driving at excessive speeds. Doesn’t this seem bit extreme for a hobby. When I say hobby I mean it as it’s a hobby, street racing is not just taking Mom and Dad’s car out and driving reckless. It has become a way of life for many for the age bracket 16-25years old.

The cars involved in these illegal street racing events. The majority of the cars involved in street racing are called imports; import is a street term for saying a Japanese motor vehicle. These are strictly Honda and Acura models, older models are the most common to be seen in the street racing crowd, do to availably and they tend to be inexpensive.

Now going under the hood of the import, this is where it all starts. Buying an imported car is just the start of becoming part of the street racing scene. The next step is engine modifications; these can range from costing 100- 6000 dollars. 6000 is when people begin to take racing to an extreme. These people will completely swap their old engine for a more powerful engine that is able to give them the performance they are looking for. Most modifications are anywhere from 100-1000 dollars, these include new exhaust, headers, force air injection, fuel injectors , bored out cylinders, lighter fly wheels, bigger fans, faster computer chip, and enhanced cooling systems. Each one of these modifications can add anywhere for 5-100 Horse Power. When horse power begins to add up, the horse power can start to add up in the hundreds and that’s hundreds of extra horse power on top of the stock performance.

Most street racing vehicles are not able to pass smog, due to large exhaust, removed O2 sensors, straight pipes, and from excessive amounts of fuel burned. This is to be able to obtain these high speeds; environment is not a factor for most All of these changes increase CO2 emissions. The reason their not able to pass is because each car comes with a carbon/emissions limit when the vehicle produced. Adding horse power will always increase the carbon output of the car, it’s just the cause and affect process. Now you might be thinking how people can register these cars without passing smog. There are ways around almost everything. Most the people in the street racing crowd are involved in building cars, car shops, and car services. If they weren’t knowledgeable in this field it would be extremely expensive to pay someone to make modifications. Most shops will refuse to install anything not street legal due to finds they can be faced. So the people that have the crews have connections with people in car fields, tuner shops, part manufactures, chop shops, and smog shops. Illegal smog passes can be purchase for about 300 dollars on the street. Then the vehicle is in the clear for two years. This also ties into being pulled over. Police are in the loop with this illegal rides cruising around, so when pulled over they can be asked to pop the hood of the vehicle and if obvious modification are visible and there is no CARB sticker on the parts the car can be impounded. The CARB sticker is for modifications that have been approve by the California Board of emissions.

The exterior of the car, this is where most people spend their money. This is to make the car look flashier and make it look like they “Street Racer”. These external upgrades include paint, grills, spoilers, exhaust tips, window tinting, lowering, rims/tires, lights, body kits, fins, lips, and stickers. Almost all of these do absolutely nothing for the performance of the car. The performance gains can be obtained by lowering the car, which creates less drag and can increase horse power by 5hp per inch dropped on suspension (good luck going over speed bumps). If the right rims and tires are used traction and control can be significantly increased and drag can be significantly decreased.

The underground life of street racing, as you can probly tell by now a lot of time an effort go into making these car perform at their best. Then the racing part comes into play. Late nights and back roads are notorious for being breeding grounds for illegal street racing. Street Racers gather in parking lots of parks, stores, and sometimes at their homes. Now just because someone has an import car and wants to street race doesn’t mean their going to. This is because to be able to race in these night races you need to be part of a racing crew of some sort. These are mostly present in large cities and in suburban areas (like Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa). Almost every street racing crew will attend these underground events (which are called meets), as a group to gain respect throughout the racing community, this time tends to be an excellent time for recruiting new crew members and for racing. The racing is never done without some sort of prize.  Prizes can range from 20 dollars to pink slips. In money wise 20 dollars usually isn’t a real race starter, because with every race there is a chance of having your car impounded for street racing and the minimum bail is 220 dollars “being caught”, in my experience I have never seen someone jump on anything under 150dollars, unless they are new to the street racing scene.

The consequences of street racing are very severe. These range from jail time to death. Jail time is used for people who have become multiply offenders of street racing. Most the time two or more cars are racing at once making it very difficult for police to catch everyone in the act. Most the time at lest one or two will completely out run the police without even getting to the point where their license can be ran. That is a risk most are willing to take, if your caught trying to outrun the police good luck explaining that one., and that turns in to automatic jail time it is considered as resisting arrest. The reason people will try to out run the police, is because they can impound your car for up to 30 days and you can be charged with a mistier, face small fines, and minor jail time. This all depends on the speed that were excited, area reckless driving occurred, and the time of day. Then lastly but definitely not least, death, this occurs because of the excessive speed reached in vehicle that have not be properly equipped with the right safety equipment and are not designed to crash at 100mph, do several barrel rolls, or slide sideways in to a tree at 60mph. These can be prevented with the right safety equipment. Roll cages can be installed and are installed in imports, as well as anti-crush seats with multi point harnesses, anti roll bars, and anti shadier windows. All of these are modifications that ability to race on a track or in legal competition. Street Racing is illegal so there are no rules and nor real limits, this make street racing dangerous and a deadly sport. These are all scene as major deterrents, but they are not big enough to kill the street racing life.

Today we got a visitor and that’s really rare. It was Hardings wife, i was very interested in what they had say, but i was so easily distracted by all the random beads on the ground. Where in the world did all these come from?. I asked Hardings wife if she had brought the beads in from outside, but she ignored me and keep arguing with her husband. Later in the day Mac begins to talk to Nurse Ratchet about the cigarettes. I’m just here, kinda listening in on the conversation. Then i hear this huge crashing sound, Mac punched out the window to the nurses office. Everyone is shocked as well as nurse ratchet. Were is this ward go or whats going to happen now?
